Описание: Сибирский вариант названия валенок - "пимы" - произошел от ненецкого "пиуы". Так ненцы, один из народов, издревле живший в Сибири - называют сапоги из оленьих шкур. Русские переселенцы позаимствовали его для сапог из овечьей шерсти. В старину в каждом сибирском селе были "пимокаты" - специалисты по изготовлению пимов. Сейчас эта профессия - редкость. Труд пимоката - нелегкий, зато эти валенки хранят тепло рук своих мастеров. Теплее этой обуви нет, так считают в этих краях. Зимой здесь мороз часто переваливает за 40 градусов. Поэтому даже в июньскую жару в цехах валяльного производства, что находится в поселке Голышманово Тюменской области, кипит работа.
